Wachowskis and Will Smith May Team Up for 'Robin Hood'
With a Terminator sensibility...

Late last year it was reported that the Wachowskis were writing a new 'Robin Hood' film that they also planned to direct.

Now, a tipster has informed AICN that Keanu Reeves — while providing a key note speech at the London School of Performing Arts — revealed during a Q&A afterwards that the Wachowskis just sold their 'Robin Hood' script to Warner Bros for a record-breaking $5M.

Reeves described the story as a modern/futuristic take on Robin Hood that is being planned as an action movie designed to have the same impact visually and technically as Terminator 2.

According to Reeves, the Wachowskis spoke to actors while they were writing the script, including Will Smith, and that Smith has agreed to star.

How closely the film will adhere to the legend of Robin Hood is unknown; it's possible it may just use the general fable as a jumping off point the way writers have been using Shakespeare for years. Either way, it should be interesting, particularly if they're planning a technical and visual effort to rival T2.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the Wachowski's have also completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see Reeves return to the world of the matrix as Neo in two more 'Matrix' films.
